Should children have cellphones

The idea of keeping in touch with your kid is always a nice feeling, a feeling of security and openness. Technology has new ways to keep in touch of our kids and one of the most commonly used today are mobile phones.

As a parent, you would really want to see your kid grow all the way. It also would be such a fulfilling feeling to know that you are always there if your kid needed you, mobile phones would really help you achieve that relationship. However, thinking about how crazy this world is and how things costs nowadays, it's quite an investment. An investment that involves great responsibility.

Letting your kid have a cellphone is a good idea, however of course, it can be bad depending on circumstances especially unforeseen ones. I'm sure you're aware of the danger that the mobile phone would open the door for your kids to also make contact with other people other than you. This could lead into a very alarming problem. But let's not go much into that subject.

Another problem is the billing. Well, this might rather be just a tiny problem to some but if you're on a tight budget, this could also be alarming. But, one might question, my kid couldn't have sent or use all those charges, well maybe.

You see, there are third party providers that you should be aware of. Some of these types of providers use tricky ways to use up credits usually promising a free offer. It is likely that your kids may get tricked into this and accidentally buy it thinking they took advantage of it but ended up taking your £10 or more.

While not all of them are scams, trouble is, we can't really identify where the offer really came from. There are ways to counter it, so don't take those mobile phones away from your kid just yet.

One is to get the offers from top carriers. Top carriers usually follow proper ethics and provides good customer care. Follow only trusted sites especially for sites (Smartphone) which promises quite an outrageous offer like a 12 months free line rental deal. Again, not all are bad and best cheap T-mobile cashback offers are pretty common but aren't necessarily scams.

Second way to avoid these is talk to your kids and tell them how to watch out for these. This is the best way to avoid these dangers and problems. This will also let you spend time and interact with your children. After all, education is the best counter to the dangers of ignorance. Educate your kid and tell them what things should be avoided.

Third of course is to take it away. Let them know their limits. Parents have to act as parents. Even if technology today is very advanced and that almost all of our tasks can be relied onto technology, we don't really need much of this. Live a simple life and teach them to your kids.
